WALT = We Are Learning To…
• Research shows that students are more motivated if they understand the learning intention of the task. • The main benefit for students is that by focusing on the learning intention, they begin to fully understand what they are learning rather than doing. • We hope our students will go home describing school activities as ‘We were learning to …” rather than ‘We did…”. |
My goal this year is to post a WALT–We Are Learning To- at the beginning of every week. WALT will be posted on the bulletin board outside the class, in the classroom, and on our class website. There will be a WEEKLY WALT for the areas of Reading, Writing, Math, and Science or Social. This will help students to know what they will be learning each week. It will also help let parents know what WALT do.
